1. Outpatient Programme
Unlike an inpatient program, which requires you to move into a facility for a specific period, an outpatient program allows you to stay at home and in your community. At the same time, you work on your addiction issues. An outpatient program comes with no fees involving room and board.
The main benefit of an outpatient programme is convenience. If you do not want to move out of your home and abandon your responsibilities to deal with your addiction. Outpatient care allows for substantial assistance, providing meetings, therapy and care around your daily routine.
The outpatient program can also be a cost-saver as many people find the cost of traditional rehabilitation simply too high to bear
New Day Outpatient Programme
New Day offers a 4-week intensive outpatient programme that runs Monday to Friday for 2 hours a day”
This program is a holistic program that attempts to equip recovering addicts with personal resources and empower them to use these learnings to implement change in their day-to-day life.
The outpatient program at New Day Rehab is based on the matrix model which has proven effective, in the treatment of over 6,000 cocaine and 2,500 methamphetamine addicts. The model uses relapse prevention, psycho-education, cognitive behavioural therapy and person-centred therapy.
This program is partially covered by medical aid. View covered medical aids. Coverage is dependent on the patient’s plan and available funds. New Day Rehab allows you to pay upfront or per session, and after that claim from your medical aid.
2. Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is an essential part of drug abuse treatment. Effective treatment can help people recovering from drug and alcohol addiction stay clean. Participating in sessions can also treat other meaningful mental health issues that often contribute to prescription or illegal drug abuse.
Individual therapy addresses the key influences of recovery including
- Stress, especially sudden life stress
- Your immediate and removed environments
- Social environments.
New Day Individual Therapy
Their therapy offers individual guidance where one can tackle issues which may be at the heart of the substance abuse problem. It allows us the space and opportunity to look deep into the role that substances have had in your life. New Day Rehab’s Individual therapy allows the space for self-discovery in a safe and non-judgmental environment where people can find inspiration to recover. This can then lead to a stronger sense of self-worth and self-efficacy.
In individual therapy, a patient works with a mental health professional one-on-one to gain self-awareness, insight and empowerment. Sessions can be held at our therapist’s office, but sometimes can be kept in a meeting room. A therapy session lasts from 45 minutes to an hour. The frequency of sessions is dependent on the needs of the patient, but it will most likely be one session per week.
Individual Therapy sessions are structured according to the needs of the patient and may touch on various topics that are client-centred, and client-motivated. Their therapists will work with the client to identify goals and evaluate progress. Therapists do not condemn, judge, criticise or dictate to the patient. Instead, they work with the patient to empower themselves to move forward with their recovery.
3. A Halfway House
A halfway house is a safe place for early recovery substance users to reintegrate back into society all the while boarding in a therapeutic environment where a recovery community can flourish through guidelines and expectations that assist in the recovery process
A halfway house is not a medical facility and does not cater for detoxing clients it is for substance abusers who have cleaned up and want to be able to gain long-term sobriety
The home provides a guided and structured living atmosphere, with the freedom to get your life back on track. You can work, attend meetings, go to the gym, visit your family, etc. Some rules and guidelines need to be met, such as curfews, providing a clean urine sample or breathalyser, attending some meetings, step-work, etc.
New Day Halfway House
The New Day halfway house is based in Alberton, Johannesburg and is a refuge for addicts that have completed detox or for those that need the help of our professional staff to turn over a new leaf.
Their halfway house promotes a holistic program assisting each client to lead a fulfilled life in a safe and secure environment. They provide each client with a space to reflect and be confident in an active recovery atmosphere. The house is carefully run and offers extensive facilities and services inclusive of your stay.
Recovery is about progression, not perfection
Addiction affects not just the addict, but the entire family. Loving someone who is struggling with an addiction can be heartbreaking, exhausting, frustrating and traumatic. Treating the addict alone is usually not enough to create lasting change in the family unit.
